Hello bit of background I am 56 years old and generally in good health don't smoke or Drink I went for ultrasound scan on Fri 22nd Jan seen consultant yesterday 26th told need to have RH testicle removed ASAP had Bloods taken today and waiting for CT Scan just hope it's been caught in time.
If anyone could share previous experience or advice on preparation etc for Op and treatment moving forward it would be much appreciated.
Thanks J
Thanks Youngy for sharing your experiences I have my pre op Monday the consultants secretary hasn't been very helpful I've had my Blood results and CT Scan but she can't share results she suggested I ask my GP to go through them they I think rightfully say it needs the consultant to explain the results as it's specialist information that a GP is trained in. I phoned the secretary back and asked if the results will be explained in pre op she replied maybe not the answer I want or expected I just hope they do discuss but think pre op is a nurse just discussing fitness to operate questions.
I did say to secretary I'm fininding the lack off feedback and it appearing not to be joined up is making me anxious she used the Covid defence all busy blah blah so not sure if I should take it further.
Thank You
Get in touch with PALS. They're really good at getting things moving.
Can you get a phone appointment with your GP?
I'd also ask whoever you see on Monday and just explain that you are worried and not getting any results.
Thank Teahupo and Youngy will see what info I get in pre Opp if I'm not happy I will contact Pals
Followed advice about Pals contacted them and received 3 calls today good news Bloods and CT Scan back OK and have my operation next week
Great news all round. PALS sorted out my issue within an hour. Not sure how they've got so much clout.
Great news, really pleased for you. Good luck next week. I had my remote oncology review as well today. All clear and reviews now every 6 months.
Hi an update had my Orchidectomy surgery on Wednesday absolutely no pain upto day after Opp but after 2 days some discomfort with bruising coming out thankfully both Blood and CT Scan showed no spreading now just waiting on results back from Pathology consultation in March on whether a course of Chemo is needed.
Thanks for all the support
