Hello  Everyone,

I have recently been diagnosed with this although i was waiting for a diagnosis for over 6 months due to it being so rare and a biopsy that i had having to go to different university hospitals around the country. I have also been told that the best way to give a chance of non recurrence if it goes into remission is by having a stem cell transplant so discussions as to which is the least risk is taking place. Either Autologenous or Allogeneic excuse my spellings if they are wrong. Has anyone had similar or stem cell transplant please reply.

Thank You,

Contrary to my user name it already has begun, ha ha.

Stay Safe Everyone.

  • Hi  and welcome to the Community.

I had a different type of T-Cell NHL but have had two Allo (donor) Stem Cell Transplants (hit my name to see my story)

You may want to join our dedicated Stem cell transplant group then put up a post and introduce yourself to the group.

  • Sorry to hear this, Sadly, T-Cell Lymphomas are well known for relapsing. PCGDTCL is indeed exceedingly rare. Here is a link to some patients at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in the US:

You might also reach out to the Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation: https://www.clfoundation.org/

The blessing (if there is one) is that as long as it remains cutaneous, it takes an indolent course. Doctors endeavor to keep it confined to the skin, as, if it becomes systemic, it is more of an emergent situation. I do not know if any UK hematologists are members of the T-Cell Consortium, but I would imagine that they are.

All the best to you as you go ahead. Do let us know how you go.

  • Thanks for the info. I have read your story it is amazing, frightening, enlightening ,educational you truly are inspirational.

  • I am in awe at your story, I feel as though I have only just begun on the long and winding road. Thanks for the pointers.

  • Hi again, each cancer journey is full of twists and turns but we all do what we need to do to get through this.

What cancer centre/SCT unit are you being seen at?

Do keep us up to date with regards to how things progress and we are always around to help out as best as we can.

  • You are very kind. The point being that, day by day, we can persevere through almost anything. We have the strength available for the asking. One need not even know with precision where the strength comes from - it is free for the asking.

I was never frightened. I knew that all occurs for a reason. It matters not that the reason is unknown to us at this point. We should know in the future at some time. In looking back, will see that all was a preparation. I am reasonably certain that more suffering is coming. When it does, I have determined to face it. I do not give cancer more power than it may already possess. The power of love is greater and the power of the human will to persevere will see us through the present circumstances.

  • Hi! A close friend of mine has been recently diagnosed with this and she is looking for other patients that are going or have gone through the same situation. Could she contact you?
