My dad has been diagnosed with stomach cancer at the top of his stomach and the cancer has gone into his oesophagus and about 4 lymph nodes, but it hasn't gone to his liver or any other organs, he is 86 and still very healthy, the doctor looking after him has said that surgery will probably kill him on the operating table, and he doesn't think chemo is a good idea, in really struggling to deal with all this and so is my mum, and I dont really know what to do, seeing it hasn't gone to his liver I thought they would give it at shot of trying to remove it, can anyone help of other options or answers to help him fight this, should we get another opinion by another doctor, as I've been reading on here some people not all with stage 4 cancer have beaten this horrible disease, I dont think my dad has stage 4 as it hasn't gone to any other organ, would another doctor who specialises in this field advice a operation. Please can someone help

  • Hi

I was passing and noticed that you hadn't had any replies yet to your post in this group. However, you have had a reply to the same questions that you asked here from one of the nurses in the ask a nurse section of the community and I wondered if you'd seen it. If not, clicking here will take you straight to her reply.

Cant seem to send her any messages, I type out a message and all it says at the bottom is reply and not send

  • Hi

You should be able to post a reply to the nurse by clicking on the “reply” button underneath their post, which looks exactly like the one you clicked on to reply to me.

You can then write your response and click “reply” to post your message.

If you don’t have an option to post a reply could you send Macmillan a screenshot of what you see to community@macmillan.org.uk. This would help them to resolve what might be a technical problem as soon as possible.

I have pressed the reply under her message but my message doesn't come up as it's done when I've sent u a message

  • I'm sorry to see that you're still having problems replying to the nurse .

Yes you do select 'reply', then type your message then press 'reply' to send it. If you're still having problems could you send Macmillan a screenshot of what you see to community@macmillan.org.uk as this may be a technical problem with the site.
