Hi
I went on the 18th September for a punch biopsy on a sun damaged lesion on the back of my calf, when I got there the surgeon asked about it, how long have I had, which I answered just over a year and it crusts over now and again. He offered me either a biopsy or to take it out completely. I told him to take it all out which he did, and yesterday (10 days after) I had the 6 stitches out and it is now healing nicely.
Whilst I was with the nurse yesterday I asked if she had the results, which she answered that I usually get a letter before them from Health Harmonie but she would look anyway. The letter was there and she let me read it. It's all a bit of a blur I can only remember a 2 row column saying to mark X beside the one that applies. 1st column was A follow up appointment is required by the consultant and the 2nd was A benign biopsy result no further appointments required. Mine was crossed for the 1st one........ I haven't received a letter as yet and did telephone Health Harmonie yesterday and all they said was my next appointment scheduled for the end of October.
I am just wondering does this mean anything bad, the surgeon took it out so I am guessing it is just to tell me the result of it, but surely in these times they could call me or write to me instead of seeing me again?
I had a removal of pre-cancerous on my forehead 2 years ago and they called me in to say it was pre-cancerous and I was worried to death prior to the appointment so I am very chilled this time and I have just recently had up to date blood tests which came back normal, I am just a little curious not knowing.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to read that you're anxiously waiting for the results of a recent biopsy on an area of sun damaged skin. I should think that just about everyone here knows what a worrying time this is.
Different hospitals have different protocols when giving out results so it's impossible to guess whether, in your case, this means good news or bad news. Some write if everything's okay whereas others have you in to tell you the results whether good or bad.
I would have thought that if your results were back you would have had an appointment to be given them before the end of October though. Could you give your consultant's secretary a call and ask when your appointment to get your results is going to be?
Do come back and let us know how you get on

Hi
I wondered how your appointment a couple of weeks ago for your results went?
