Not sure if my previous post went! So posting again..

Saw my gp last week about a stye, and while looking at my eye, she noticed a small BCC  situated between my eye and corner of nose.

I asked her about going private, and she said it was up to me..but that she would advise me just to wait a month approx for Nhs appointment. She said, if it was her mother, she would tell her that. (However she mentioned also that I might have less of a scar with MOHS treatment.

Anyway I just decided to make an appointment with a private guy who specialises in Mohs surgery..even though it will cost me, and have an appointment to see him on monday.I am worried because it is on my face.

Has anyone got any advice..re private versus nhs?

Thanks everyone.

Hi samcaroledorothy, so pleased you’ve got it done and so quickly! I hope you’re feeling some relief now that it’s out although I guess you’ll still be pretty anxious during the waiting time. Just using comparisons to mine I think you’ll see your wound healing well pretty quickly. Fingers crossed for you getting clear results let me know. Yes all well with me thanks feel like I can put it all behind me now, hopefully you’ll feel the same soon x

lovely to talk to you..its great to share with someone who has been through it. Yes I feel some relief..its the thought of surgery and not knowing what to expect that is scary, but we have to be brave in life .The wound is just dark red at the moment, and hopefully should heal without any infection..keeping my fingers crossed for results. all the best and will let you know.
