I am due to have this taken off my face in two days time I’m terrified at the thought, it’s just under my . I have been getting a lot of pain which has given me headaches. Is it normal to have pain ?
Hi
Please don't be terrified at the thought of having your SCC removed. It's normally a very simple operation done under a local anaesthetic. You will have stitches and be advised how to look after the wound and when to have your stitches removed.
It's difficult to answer whether it's normal to get lots of pain where an SCC is as everyone's pain threshold is different. It's certainly not uncommon to have some pain and if you take a look at my previous reply to you you will see a link to another person who is currently waiting to have his SCC removed and he mentions that he gets pain from the area that his is located in.
The headaches you're getting could be because you're very anxious about the SCC. However, I'm not medically trained so any new symptoms should always be checked out. It may be a good idea to make an appointment to see your GP today as this will also give you the chance to explain to him/her how anxious you are about the operation.
Let us know how your operation goes and try not to worry.

Hi
I was just wondering how you got on when you had your SCC removed a few weeks ago. Hopefully you're recovering nicely.
