Hi. Couple of queries. One, .My surgeon told me to use 50 or more all over frof march to October.. I usually wear Simple face creams as I like the light in greasy creams for me ageing skin ! Has anyone any recommendations for a good not massively expensive all day factor skin creams
Secondly. A very worrying clip appeared on my Facebook about some gp on good morning Britain . He said 50 was only 2 % better than 30 .And that if you burned using 30 and applied 50 the day after .the heavy metals in the cream would attract the radiation and cause cancer ! I will post the clip if I am allowed.
??? Confused and a little concerned
I've no idea why Lloyds Pharmacy want you to have a prescription to buy SunSense products . Perhaps it's just a glitch on their website as you say they're also saying that about a mouthwash. You can definitely buy Sunsense sunscreens without a prescription either directly from the company or via Amazon or John Lewis, etc.
I've had a look at Riemann P20 online this morning as that wasn't one I'm familiar with. I noticed it said that you only needed to apply it once a day but I'd still err on the side of caution and follow the recommendations from BAD to reapply sunscreen every two hours.
Have a great day out today.
Well I tried the la Roche posay and it's thick and greasy for my face at any rate. Sank in all me wrinkles . Didn't like it at all as a daily face cream but will save it for my holiday . After googling a bit more I ended up buying my usual brand .Simple. With spf 30 uva and uvb. I will wear this for usual back and forth to the car. Hanging out washing ect. But for days out I'll wear the Roche ...
I used the Riemann P20 today. It's a spray and quite greasy when it first goes on, but dries quickly and I really wasn't aware of it after that. No scent and none of that sticky feeling I get from some sun creams. I bought it because of the 4* UVA rating, but I agree it's probably best to use it more often than it says on the box. The leaflet inside does say frequent application is recommended, especially if you've been in water.
Its easily availble online the cheapest place I have found is www.thesuncareshop.com . Usually fast & free delivery too.
Well this is the first holiday abroad since my diagnosis and surgery. And it's not been as bad as I thought. Quite enjoyed staying in the shade and not going out of an evening burning from over doing it and sticky with after sun !!. Also there no need to be sat out all day. I've not felt the need to be out in the middday heat and have come inside more ... ( I am looking at holidaying in the UK now. Don't see the point of sitting in the heat anymore ?) So I've used the rosche posay on my face and Aldi 50 sensitive everywhere else. Hat and cotton shirt and partner bought me a uva parasol incase I couldn't find shade . I felt a bit down at times as all the other guests were getting nice tans. I kept thinking. The damage your doing to yourself. I don't care that I'm as pale as I was ten days ago.. it's vanity that caused my melanoma. Vanity. Nothing else.. all for trying to get a tan that lasts how long ?? .I can use fake if need be. .
So here's to no suntan !!
I feel just the same Waspy13!! I have 3 bcc's on my head, the biggest one is being excised on Monday...I've now got a small selection of sunhats and a UV parasol which I have used quite a lot... I haven't sunbathed for quite a few years now but the damage was done when I happily laid in it and fried...
I use la Roche posay milk 50 plus on my face every day and am very pleased with it...
I'm glad you enjoyed your holiday ....we can be pale and interesting while everyone else gets brown and wrinkled!!
