Hi, I have been diagnosed as having Squamous cell carcinoma after 18 months of belief that the lump I have on my lower back is a cyst. The lump got bigger rapidly over 6-9 months and is now 8cm. I've had an ultrasound, CT and will have an MRI in two days time. I feel drained of energy and I have pain relief that I take regularly. I've also told my gp of pain in my hip going to my groin and testicle. The consultant has discussed surgery and a skin graft, but I am concerned that given the rapid growth of the tumour and its size that it may have spread to other areas.
Hi Merlin12,
I'm pleased to meet you and very sorry indeed to hear about this.
You're going through such a terribly difficult time. Having been diagnosed with the same condition I can relate to your concerns very easily. I can also understand how much more difficult things are when pain's involved.
It's good you've had some tests and an MRI scan is coming soon. These will hopefully clarify things for you and the medics involved, and give you the treatment plan you need.
Anyone who reads your post will be right behind you all the way. There's a lot of knowledge and support on this forum. We all need each other. That's why we're here.
If you'd like to do so, please pop back with an update when you have some news. It'd be good to hear how you're getting on.
Take good care and all the best.
