Hi
Thanks for adding me. I made a post earlier but not so sure if it arrived. I’ve been diagnosed with SCC and have an appointment with a plastic surgeon on Wednesday
The site is just above my upper lip. I’ve had no advice since the appt was made. I have just been to GP who was talking about leaving a wound open and returning for plastic surgery if necessary. Is this a thing? I thought it was just going to be cut out. Also, how do they know if they’ve got it all? Also, did anyone continue to take supplements eg collagen before the op? Tia
Hey Meercat2
Sorry to hear you've received this diagnosis.
I've had a melanoma and BCC removed previously (full details of diagnosis and treatment are in my bio on my profile if you're interested) and based on my experience I would note down your excellent questions and take them with you to your appointment with plastics. We can often be told different things by different medical professionals, but in your current situation, they would be the department whose info I'd be most interested in at the moment.
Hope this helps and you get the answers you need at your appointment.
