I just had a consultation with a plastic surgeon yesterday where he said the lump near my inner eye is a BCC. I'm just waiting for the date of the op where he'll do an excision and skin flap which will hopefully be soon.
I just had a few questions from others that have had a similar diagnosis.
- what kind of products did you use after the excision site had healed to help reduce scarring? I've seen some people say vaseline or just plain aqueous cream. Has anybody tried silicone gel? I already use sunscreen which is why I was surprised that it was a BCC
- should I book off time after the surgery or can I go straight back to work the next day? I work in a hospital in theatres and it's pretty heavy going. I wouldn't want the wound to get infected but I'm also with people all day that'll probably ask about this huge wound on my face

I've had a BCC removed but it wasn't in the same place as yours and just needed very simple aftercare. However, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
There have been quite a few people in the group who have had a BCC where yours is so hopefully they'll be along soon to share their experiences with you.
