Hi first time posting

I had surgery on my eyelid for a bcc 6 weeks ago and biopsie conformed it was advanced so I went back in for another operation. Its 7mm by 9mm and 5mm deep!

I went back to hospital for my final results today and they said thwy got it all.  But as am so young and it was fast growing and advanced thwy are going to see me every 4 weeks.

I should feel relieved? But I dont, I feel numb and like am a ticking time bomb. My family all want to celebrate but I dont feel like its over.

Sorry just needed to gwt it off my chest .

  • Hi Loualla81

I'm sorry to hear about what you've been through.  I'm glad to hear that they've got all of the bcc this time.  I completely appreciate not feeling like you can relax and celebrate now, it's not always easy for people to understand if they haven't been through the same thing.

I was also told that I was young to have a bcc. I think it is reassuring that they want to keep an eye on you because they will spot anything else before it becomes more problematic to remove but I can completely understand that feeling like you are a ticking time bomb. I know I felt like my body had let me down and what else could be 'lurking'. I did and still do to some extent feel a bit disconnected from my body, I think as a way to cope with the anxiety of it all.  Like it was something happening to my body rather than to me.

My best advice is to give yourself time, don't expect to get over it all mentally straight away, and be kind to yourself.

    Wishing you all the best

    Dearheart
