Hello, I've had a few moles out, which have all thankfully been fine, even though the last one I was told wasn't a normal mole, it turned out to be. So I feel very thankful so far.
I've now got to have another dirty looking one taken out, but I'm not letting myself worry anymore. However, I had an original mole that my skin issues started with that is still there. It went multi-coloured, bled, was frozen off, grew back with a lump underneath. I asked for this to be taken out but no one will - it's now skin coloured and looks harmless. I actually forgot to ask my consultant to look at this today but I've been told previously because it looks harmless it wouldn't be coming out anyway, which is fine.
For my own sanity, this is the one I do want out and so I've decided to go private to lob it out and be done with the three-year drama of this wee beast.
Please could anyone advice me how much your removal and testing cost for those who have gone down this route? It could probably be done on punch biopsy.
Thanks for any replies.
Hi Luffy
I haven't had any moles removed privately but I thought I'd mention that it might be worthwhile also posting this question in the melanoma group, which I can see you've joined, as you're more likely to come across mole removal in that group.
If you don't get any replies, have you tried phoning your local private hospitals to see if they can give you a quote?
Anne
Hi Anne,
Thanks for your reply! I wasn't sure to post there because I don't know it's anything. My one coming out soon is likely fine, so I didn't want to take away from those going through such serious stuff.
I'm hoping this next one out on the NHS is going to be the last needing out, and my body stops producing so many strange changes. The original one is for my own sanity.
I've found a few online but the prices vary massively. Would be good to see the rough price others paid.
Thanks you.
