Hi
I have a lesion on my lower arm that is being removed under local and a skin graft is being taken from upper arm. Consultant thinks it may be cancerous but won’t know until removed.
anyone have similar experience and what was the after care of the wounds?
I’ve been told I’ll have a splint on to keep my arm still to allow the graft to heal. My question is - what does the splint look like and how often are dressings done , and by who? I won’t be able to drive so it’ll be taxis to hp practice if they are dressing the wounds.
any information would be appreciated
Hi Pb3444 I cant' really answer your questions. My bcc's were removed from my face by skin flap and the other skin graft. I didnt have to go for dressing change or anything like that. A week after surgery I had the stitches out and that was it, but being your arm which you move alot, I presume that is why they want it splinted. Good luck and I am sure someone on the site may have had a similar operation and contact you. Good Luck
