Hi everyone,

I’ve been diagnosed with a suspected BCC on my shoulder and given Efudix cream to use on it but my feeling is I want it cut out. Has anyone on this forum used the cream successfully? Or any other procedures that you would recommend?

Thanks,

S

  •   , don’t blame you! Efudix is messy and you are using it for quite a long time. I as,ed to have mine cut out, and though I waited a long time between biopsy and excision, it was much easier to cope with.

Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

  • Hi SM70 Just read your comments re Efudix cream  Please be patient and use it as directed.  My hubby had two cancers on his face and used this cream. Yes it is a bit messy for a couple of weeks BUT it works.  His face is perfect now all new skin has gown and Consultant very pleased with the outcome as we are too.  I have two BCC's removed surgically from my face and believe me, that is far far worse than a couple of weeks with a scabby face using the cream.  I wished I could have had this rather than surgery.  My scars are healed now but I can see them, others cant, and the procedure to have them surgically removed is not a pleasant experience.  Go with the cram you have nothing to lose to try it and lots of people on this site have had the same outcome as my hubby.  It does work.  Good luck xx

  • Thank you for the response.

  • Useful to know. Thank for taking the time to respond.

  • My BCC is not superficial. It is on the side of my nose.  Awaiting MOHS surgery. Staggered by waiting time for surgery. Diagnosed November 2023. Can grow, go deeper, cause greater disfigurement to my face. Somewhat stressed out. Live in East Sussex.
