Hi,
I've had 3 moles removed in May.
I waited more than 12 weeks for the results, one of the moles came out melanoma, thankfully stage 0.
I was told i will have WLE in 2 weeks, but that was more than a month ago.
Since then i have been on the phone with someone and asked about it and they said i am high priority, a week ago i went to see a dermatologist for another mole and he said he will remind them too.
How long should i wait since it has been 4 months already since my first surgery?
Could that affect the outcome or i shouldn't worry?
Thanks to anyone who replies
Hi rk1983 and a very warm welcome to the skin cancer forum
That must have been scary discovering that one of your moles was a melanoma but, thankfully, Stage 0 is as good as it gets without being told that it isn't melanoma at all.
When I was diagnosed with melanoma it was about 16 weeks between having the lesion excised and having the WLE. Like you, I was concerned about the wait so spoke to my SCNS (skin cancer nurse specialist) who reassured me by pointing out that the melanoma had been removed and the WLE was "a belt and braces approach" to remove a further area all around the original site just to make absolutely certain that no stray cells had been left behind.

When you have a minute, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway.
