Hi,
my dad was diagnosed with a large scalp scc at Easter. It had been there a few months unfortunately. He’s had it removed with large margins and was told that he’d need radiotherapy but needed to heal a little first. Two weeks later at the next appointment he had a new lesion that’s now weeping and bleeding. A week later he has another lump by ear and probably a deeper lump. I’m besides myself for him. It’s all too fast and too much. He’s now going to have a CT scan.
any stories of hope?
Hi Hem and a very warm welcome to the skin cancer group which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that since your dad's excision several more lesions have developed and I can understand how worried you must be.
There are quite a few people in this group who have been diagnosed with SCC and, if you haven't already, you could use the search facility in the forum to look for previous posts.
When you have a minute, it would be great if you could put something about your dad's diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
