Concerned About Possible Tumor

Hello everyone.

I was diagnosed with boewl cancer in 2018, underwent surgery and chemo, and was for the most part in good shape for a while after. However, the past few months a lot of the symptoms have returned, and I have seen my GP about this. Tests are underway, though it is taking some time at the moment to get seen by anybody.

My reason for posting here is that slightl over a week ago, I noticed a lump on the top of my right ear.It is somewhat larger than my pinkie fingernail. It is noticeably different in texture to the rest of my ear, being a little soft on the outside, but seems firm in the middle. I is sore, a sort of aching soreness, and it often feels quite itchy. It is often also noticeably warmer than the rest of my ear when touched.

Is there any chance that this might be a tumor? I am obviously concerned, given that my other symptoms are so bad. Tests have been done, tumor markers and so forth, and I have not heard any results yet, though I know my liver function is off from a recent unrelated test. I am worried that this might be a new cancer or a metastasy, but I do not know much about the various different types of skin cancer, and was wondering if anybody recognised the description I have given of this new growth, and could perhaps advise.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Robin

    Hi Robin

Having read your profile it does sound like you have a lot going on health wise so it's natural to worry when you notice something new.

My best advice would be to go and see your GP and, if he thinks there's any chance that it's a form of skin cancer, he'll refer you to see a consultant dermatologist.

Do let us know how you get on
