  1. Thanks for accepting me to the forum, I went to the Dr's 2 years ago with a mark on my right arm, It was diagnosed as seborrhoea, keratosis, 3 months ago when on holiday, I noticed the wart bleeding and scaley and rough, So I booked to see Dr again, where I was sent to a dermatologist, which took photos, A weeks later I got called back and they did a biopsy, 3 weeks later I was called back and informed I had stage 1 melanoma where I would have to have WLE, I went to see plastic surgeon last week to advise, He said the melanoma had been removed on biopsy. and they are just making sure it doesn't reoccur, I got a call a week later and I am having the surgery done on the 3rd October, Hoping everything will be fine once I've had the WLE
  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with melanoma but it's good that it's been caught at an early stage.

As you know, the online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join us over in the melanoma group as you'll then connect directly with others who have this type of skin cancer.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
