I was first diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma in late 2022. I was a little surprised, but not entirely. Only because I was a sun worshiper as a teenager. Even though I’ve used really strong sunscreen for the past 10 years, I always knew that would come back to haunt me. So, it was on my back near my shoulder blade and they did the cut and burn. It took me a really long time to heal, which was frustrating and a little depressing. Now I finally have a pink scar that is getting better week by week. Then, I had an Atypical Mole on my right leg that was severe. So they gave me two stitches for that, and the margins were clear. I came on this forum to talk about my story, but more importantly, to help others.
Hi Missyx and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
Thanks very much for taking the time to share a little of your story about your BCC with the group and for offering to share experiences with others.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
