I have had several Bcc’s and Scc’s removed and have developed Bowen’s disease. I have read about a link between the blood pressure medication containing thiazides being linked to scc’s and bcc’s and the longer you are taking the medication the higher the risk of developing these and lip cancer.
Has anyone had any experience of this. Really interested to find out how common this is.
I was on co-Amilozide since the birth of my children in 1986, 30+ years ago. I was never a sun worshipper. There are a few medications under this bracket, co-amilozide, moduretic, hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ), chlorthalidone, and others.
Hi Scbb and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I haven't heard about blood pressure medication containing thiazides being linked to skin cancer so have searched the group to see if anyone else has mentioned this but drawn a blank I'm afraid.
This might be a good question to post in the ask a nurse section of the online community and one of the specialist cancer nurses will respond within 3 working days. If this is something that you'd like to do clicking on the link I've created will take you there.
It would be good if you could report back what they say.
