I was diagnosed with melanoma last year and had surgery 10 months ago to remove it. Since then I’ve had various lesions cut out some of which have been BCCs or AK I had MOHs surgery on my face in May for an infiltrated BCC
I’ve found an SPF50 stick and cream I can tolerate on my face but am yet to find something for arms and legs that doesn’t leave me feeling sticky/ greasy and ruining clothing.
I appear to have sensory issues with the feeling they leave on my skin when going about day to day activities and work I’ve coped with cream when on holiday and wearing swim wear but am now avoiding going out as I can’t find protection that I don’t want to wash straight off. Any recommendations please
Hi Koutou
It can definitely be challenging finding a sunscreen that you feel comfortable with.
I like Sunsense Ultra spf 50+ for my body and Sunsense Daily Face 50+ for my face. However, since being diagnosed with melanoma 10 years ago, I have covered up and only use the sunscreen on exposed areas like the back of my neck and hands. I'll admit that it can be a bit warm in the summer but I find it preferable to being covered in sunscreen.
