BCC on nose; skin flap surgery

Hello my husband has just had most of his nose removed i feel for you it's going to take months for him to heal then 2 months for a new prosthetic  nose like you he is in alot of pain

For me I had 9mm BCC removed, which was very awkwardly placed immediately next to my nostril. This took just two rounds of MOHS surgery with a V-Y advancement flap repair and the dressing came off after two days with stitches out after a week. I took three days off work completely after the surgery as I was shattered but the pain was minimal and I was working from home anyway after that so there was minimal impact for me. You couldn't even see the scar on a video call!

A lot of what it will be like for you really depends on the type of surgery (e.g. standard excision, MOHS), the extent of the surgery if it's the MOHS procedure and then obviously what type of reconstruction happens afterwards. Your medical team will be best placed to advise you of this, but they may not know in advance of the procedure.

Thank you for that. It’s a small area that needs to be cut but they will be doing a flap surgery. I’ve taken that week off anyway
