I am wondering if anyone can share their experience of how their skin recovers on the face and nose after using Tolek cream (other same treatment name is Efudix cream) for pre cancerous /bcc facial skin cancer. I have not yet started this treatment and cannot find any literature on how long the skin takes to recover after the treatment and what it will look like etc.
Hi Emlyhib My husband used Efudix cream on his face. He had an area on his cheek and he applied the cream very sparingly with a cotton bud, so as he only got it on the area that needed it. It took a couple of weeks for any reaction to happen but the area just went red and scabby. Once he had finished using the cream for the prescribed time, it didnt take long to heal and the skin underneath was lovely and smooth, slightly red for a few weeks but you can't tell where the lesion was now. It was about the size of a 2p piece. He was lucky as my bcc's had to be operated on with skin flaps and skin grafts, so this treatment certainly works well. Good luck on your journey.
