I had nose flap MOHs surgery 4 weeks ago and my scar seems almost well enough to be able to start wearing suncream. However, the flap - which is a bulge and is numb - doesn’t seem to absorb suncream. It just runs off it.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Any tips on what suncream to use?
I’m obviously very wary of UVA rays now and mustn’t put my scar in direct sun for 6 months anyway.
Thank you.
Good morning, Th Boots No 7 Suncream isn't thick to put on. I put it on daily whenever I'm going out. I have got into a routine of now putting it on as you would foundation cream. It spreads easily. I put several layers on last week on holiday and felt my scars were protected in the hot sun. My scars are 1 year old next week and they are doing ok. I am hoping to be discharged on the 8th Oct. I now always wear a hat with a large brim as recommended by my consultant.

Thanks. I think at the moment I need a thick cream as have to keep my flap out of direct sunlight for 6 months and am going to Portugal this month. I might research a sun block but will bear No. 7 in mind for later. I normally use La Roche-Posay F50 but it’s not absorbing.
Hi Midday
I use heliocare spf50, it was recommended by my drermatologist...It gives great protection and you cannot feel its on..as some creams are thick.
