Hi everyone, new to this but here we go, I could do with some advice after a large area of SCC carcinoma on the left side of my forehead about 6months ago which has left me with a numbness on that side, I did expect some nerve damage and swelling but it seems a long time I thought it would have got a bit better by now.  Has anyone else experienced this.

  • Hi

I'm sorry to see that nobody's replied to your post after I suggested that you join this group. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

I'm 'tagging'  into my reply as they recently mentioned that their husband was experiencing numbness on their head after an excision. Hopefully they'll pop on and share their husband's experience with you.

  • Hi I had a BCC on forehead and had it removed with a skin graft. I now have permanent numbness which has slightly Impey. Was warned I would lose sensation though!

  • Thank you for replying has put my mind at ease. I did not think it was permanent and my eye lid has drooped. A well a small price to pay Grinning

  • Think they have to cut nerves - hence numbness. Had it done in November 2923, and have regained some sensation. It isn’t a problem- just a bit weird at 1st!

  • Thank you for your reply, very reassuring and yes it feels very weird.

  • Hi, I've got the same problem with nerve damage after op, It seems we should be having a mri scan to check the nerves for cancer, which is stated on google ai.

  • Hi I had the same op and numbness also my eyelid has drooped. You can have another op to lift it so I was told although I have not gone down that avenue yet still thinking about it as it does interfere with my sight a bit. Take care best wishes.

  • Hi, Did you have radiotherapy if so has it caused your eye to weep as though it's infected, I have to keep bathing it, been 9 months and still sore and shooting pains, Do you see the consultant every 4 months for check up

  • Hi jemy, no I did not receive radiotherapy and no weeping but my eye does go bleary at times and uncomfortable that's why I'm considering an op to lift the eye-lid, I have a check up every four months that's for the next three years. I had another op last week to remove a blemish on my leg still waiting for the biopsy results. Hope you can get your eye sorted, do you use eye drops it might help. All the best
