Hello,
I am here to find some support and useful information for my DH who is 54 yrs old. His PSA was 3.74 in July end, repeat PSA after a month stayed at 3.74.MRI showed PIRAD 2 and PIRAD 3.PSA density 0.10, Prostrate size 39cc.After MRI on NHS , biopsy followed and he is now diagnosed with PC
Histology-Right anterior target Gleason 3+4 adenocarcinioma.Grade 2 <10 percent pattern 4.Right and left lobe systematic biopsies-no evedence of malignancy.
The urologist explained 3 options-AS, Surgery for removal and radiation.Honestly , with no known family history and DH being in good health otherwise-it came as a shock and we could not think of much to ask in that meeting with the urologist. The NHS urologist who gave the diagnosis said that DH will be offered an appointment with the surgen in 6 weeks or so.However, now the appointment is offered for 7th Jan.Waiting that long just to have initial consultation feels scary to me.
Would love any inputs - should we consult a private consultant? Are there any more tests/scans - to get better idea ?
Can anyone recommend a name or two of private consultants in London?
Many thanks.
