Hi

Just wanted to say hello. My husband has stage 4 m1n1a prostate cancer. His psa is 74. After mri we were given the news it was cancer. Spread to lymph and very slightly to bladder. No evidence of spread to bone or organs. We are devastated. Its been agony waiting for appointments. Last one biopsy which confirmed gleeson 4+4. Oncology appointment next week which i am so worried about. My husband is 57. Hes fit and currently feels well. He was put on Relugolix and Tamulosin straight away. So far no bad side effects. Hes a bit more tired and i have noticed a little brain fog at times. I joined this group as its amazing. Ready some of the comments has made me feel so much better. We are trying to act normal but now far from normal. I am so worried all of the time.

  • Hello

A warm welcome to the group, although I am so sorry to find you joining us.

It sounds like your husband has a decent team looking after him and I hope next weeks oncology appointment brings you some answers as to future treatments. it's a good idea to prepare a list of questions for the meeting and here's some pointers to start your list off:

  • Thank you Brian thats so helpful

  • and Hello

As Brian says - welcome, and yes please do check out our profiles..

These early stages are very very trying, for all concerned and it is important that you look after each other.

You say hubby is fit (great!) - I would recommend staying as fit as possible, and even upping the exercise level.  HT makes you fatigued - and the best way to overcome it is to exercise.

Once you have had that Oncology meeting and hopefully a treatment plan things will get clearer - you will have a focus.

Do come back and let us know how things go?

    Best wishes

    Stay positive, be strong

  • Hi  , I started this journey 9 years ago with PSA 74, Gleason 9 and T3bN1M0 so understand your concerns.  Just deal with things as they occur.  Try not to worry about what might happen, because 1. It might not happen & 2. Worrying won’t help.
We can help at every stage, so just ask.  You can read my journey by clicking on my name or avatar.

    Best wishes, David

Please remember that I am not medically trained and the above are my personal views.

  • I too have Stage 4, and at the beginning was beside myself with worry. I realized after a very short time that’s there’s no point in worrying, you just have to encourage your husband to do what others have said on here , keep active/fit, eat well and remain positive. The medication and treatment nowadays gives us all hope that we can still live a normal life for many, many years to come.

    best wishes - Gra
