ive just started my journey, I hope I can emulate your achievement and more. 

Started on just 3 monthly prostap injection which I'm still receiving and also daily apalutamide tablets which I started 4 years ago.

I had chemo at the start and radiotherapy about 4 years ago. PSA always with safe levels however it's started creeping up over the past couple of months.

Trouble with testosterone blocking drugs is that they cause other conditions such as osteoporosis which I now have.

Thank you for your inspiring post, and congratulations- what an anniversary to celebrate!

I am now exactly one year in from my scary PSA result and am on HT for life and have had chemo for the first half of the year. Interestingly my consultant wants to talk about RT at our next meet in two weeks time.  

I intend to be posting in another nine years to celebrate my 10th!!!

Sorry Krispy it's a bugger isn't it. Just follow the rules and you won't go far wrong.

Hi Desperado , sounds like a similar journey to my own, but I am only 9 years!   (T3bN1M1 Gleason 9)  I had chemo and RT then after 7 years PSA started rising and mets found in my bone.  Luckily I had SABR on that 18 months ago and am currently stable.  HT had also given me osteopenia (half way to osteoporosis) and I get AF, but like you I am still here.  Congrats on 10 years by the way.

Well done David. What is AF? Do you have any pain and if so what medication do you take?

Hi Desperado .  An Eagles fan I assume. Anyway, 10 years since that spread, and with treatment improvements coming on line seemingly every year.  There’s hope for everyone in the post - thanks!  AW

Hi David, I’m aware of your journey because I follow you primarily because you are an unfortunate metastatic like myself. I’d be interested to know if anyone on here has survived 10 years or more with bone Mets. 

Well done by the way for completing 9 years all in, great achievement. 

I think the prospect of long term survival is the norm nowadays.  The oft - repeated adage “die with it, not of it” springs to mind….    AW
