Hello everyone it’s mark , I was diagnosed with prostate cancer a year ago with a psa of 611%, after some gruelling chemotherapy they got it down to 0.8%, but today I had a phone call after a blood test and my psa as gone up to 6%. I would like to know if there’s anyone else in the same situation. I lost my partner last year so now I live by myself which brings its own set of problems.
Hello Mark (Luddyluddy2282ae),
A warm welcome to the prostate forum although I'm very sorry you have the need to join. I'm also very sorry to hear that you lost your partner last year bringing even more problems for you.
There are numerous members here who have experienced similar recurrence issues, I was first diagnosed and treated in 2016 and my cancer recurred somewhat later in 2024. I'm now incurable but treatable.
There are numerous treatments available for recurrence. So we can comment more usefully can you let us know if you are still undergoing any treatment (such as HT)? The best way to do this is to complete your profile so we can see your history. This can be done by following the steps here:
To add your profile and investigation / treatment information on your home page, click on the laptop icon, top right, then "profile" then "edit". Once you have written something, don't forget to save it.
Derek.
