Just diagnosed stage 2 Gleason score of 7 (3+4) thankfully contained in the prostate just wondering do you feel fatigued

  • Hi  , I don’t know, because as soon as I was diagnosed I went into treatment.  All the treatments seem to have fatigue as a side effect.  You can do a lot to combat fatigue by trying to keep fit, but listen to your body.

    Best wishes, David

Please remember that I am not medically trained and the above are my personal views.

  • Hi MadnessSka

Sorry that you have had the misfortune to join this forum having being diagnosed with PC, but you will find it's a wonderfully supportive group.

You don't mention your age, general fitness level , if you have a healthy diet, or if you have other medical conditions & are on medications for them, which can all have an impact on fatigue levels.  I was 67 when diagnosed as Gleason 7 (4 + 3) which was contained within my prostate & chose HT & RT aimed at a cure.  Treatments have an individual effect but I'm glad to say I didn't feel fatigued, although I did find I slept well at night & managed to do all the things I normally would have done.

Although it can seem counter intuitive when feeling fatigued, exercise & a good diet can help.

    Best Wishes

    Brian

  • As the saying goes, welcome to the club that no-one wants to be a member of.

I am also stage 2 Gleason 7 (3+4) and have been a 'club' member for about 2 years, and a forum member for about 1.5 years.  I just logged in today, after some absence, to update my profile with my latest active surveillance 6-monthly PSA result.

Feel free to look at my profile, in case it is of interest and of any use to you.  I strongly recommend taking the time to update yours.

To answer your question, the answer is I'm not conscious of any fatigue which I could reasonably attribute to having PCa.  Like many people I do have fatigue from time to time, but I would attribute it to other causes.

If you have any other questions, fire away!  I'll now probably be mostly off this forum for a while, but have notifications switched on so I'll be aware of, and will respond to, any direct questions.

    Best regards, Peroni.
