Hi! I completed Radiotherapy for my Prostate Cancer 8 days ago. I am still experiencing a lot of discomfort peeing especially during the afternoons, evening and nights but thankfully mornings are sometimes almost normal. Is this what my fellows in the Prostate Cancer world have also experienced and when/if did they improve?
I finished last Friday, seven days ago and the weekend was uncomfortable but I found drinking six to eight glasses of water every day helped. I had a follow up phone call today and it was explained that seven to ten days after treatment is when it might get worse. If you are in pain contact your nursing team as they can tell you if what you suffering from is normal. I think discomfort is ok but pain should be checked out.
Hi Argus
Yes, that is fairly normal.
Side effects including urinary issues started for me half way through treatment and carried on for at least a couple of weeks after treatment was over.
So give a bit more time although of course you could always contact the cancer centre and ask them if to be expected.
All the best
Steve
