  1. Hi all, just had a biopsy yesterday and couldn't pee afterwards so had a catheter fitted. I can say I have more discomfort from this then the biopsy. I was concerned  that the flow was weak but after laying down on the bed and nodding off the bags in the morning filled up, to my suprise.
  • Hello

An indwelling catheter takes some time to get used to (I had one for 10 months!). The important news is that you are peeing now. I don't know how long your team said to keep it but 2 important things you need to know:

    * Keep the pipe where it enters the penis clean - wash it  every day with cooled boiled water - there will be debris believe me.

    * Always have the leg bag straps behind the pipe not over it.

I wish you well with your biopsy results.

    Best wishes - Brian.
