psa readings

hi what do the different levels mean i have been told my psa readings are 17, i am waiting for dates for scans and biopsy, i find it hard to understand. the hospital started me on tamsulosin 400mgs to help with the waterworks,im still having bother with it

  • Hi Kinlar.

    PSA readings on their own don't mean that much.

    You are taking Tamsulosin which can be for enlarged prostate.

    Do u have more than one PSA reading.

    You need a MRI scan to show what's going on so obviously a few weeks to wait for that.

    It may not be cancer but even if it is with PSA at that level should be curative
