diagnosis and treatment in Spain

Hello,

I have recently been diagnosed Gleason 3+3, with a PSA of 14.2.  I am being treated in Spain as a resident so it does make it slightly different as I assume they have slightly different medical protocols .   I am waiting for a PET-TAC scan but the urologist is already talking about surgical removal and/ or radiation.

I would rather take a couple of months to consider the options and research potential side affects .

Has anyone been diagnosed and treated in Spain?   Any general advice regarding treatment options would be welcome before I go back for the results of the .

Again Thanks in advance

  • Hello  and welcome. Yes there have been posters from Spain but not that many. My husband and I live in Greece and we have found that our options have been similar to those in the UK and you should have similar choices although if you are anything like us you have to be more proactive in finding the experts.

With a Gleason of 3+3 you have time to go through all your options and I would suggest you seek the opinion of an oncologist. I have linked in a recent thread which might give you more information.

  • Hello Gary (

We do have this group you may wish to join:

Living with cancer outside the UK forum

It's not for specific cancers but it may help.

Other than that we do have some Community Members living in Spain and I am sure they will be along to help.

    Best wishes - Brian.
