Brachytherapy

Hi my husband had the opp Jan 22 and had the bladder problems after.  He did the pelvic floor exercises religiously and had his bladder under control after about 6 months only up once in the night now.  Keep doing the exercises and fingers crossed your PSA stays undetectable. 

Unfortunately my husband’s has started to rise and he is being monitored closely.

Hi Ashyeo - I see that Millibob has tagged me in this thread.  However, in your case brachytherapy does not apply as you have had your prostate gland removed.   AW

It looks as if some work has been done on salvage Brachytherapy to the prostate bed after Prostatectomy.

Hi Alwayshope - that’s very interesting, and good to see that statistical progress is being made all the time in the treatment of PCa.  Indeed, this study goes back 20 years, with the statistics just being compiled last year. I note that this appears to be the “full works” in the case of prostatectomy failures: so the salvage treatment in this study would be brachytherapy boost, plus hormone therapy (throwing the kitchen sink at it).  This was - quote - “extraordinarily effective”.  Thank you for posting: every day is a school day
