  • Hi Rudd, how many factions of radiotherapy? Locally aggressive - did you have cribriform in your histology report? How long will you be on hormone therapy?  How long to recover from the side effects of radiotherapy (no1 urgency, no2 loose bowels, etc)?  If you add any other details as well, members will be able to comment more productively.  Cheers,  AW

  • Hi Rudd, and a warm welcome. As our Alpine Warrior says, it will help if you could supply details like the drugs you are on, your Gleason, TNM and treatment so far so that more targeted information can be given. To do this click on the chair by the side of your name and update your profile. This will also stop us asking the same question many times.

Forgetfulness is a side effect of hormone therapy, although in my husband's case I think it is selective, but I know it does frustrate him at times but he has got used to making notes - as long as he can remember where he put them.

For the flushes and hot sweats he has 1 to 2 cups of sage tea a day and this has made a big difference. A hand held fan can also help as well as wearing layers so that you can throw one off when necessary. Also try and wear natural fabrics against the body and for bedlinen.

Please come back with any questions, no matter how small or silly they may seem.
