Hello Everyone

To all us sufferers, carers, wives and family. Also partners. May myself and my lovely wife wish you all out there. A very Merry Christmas keep fighting, and be positive. I’ve heard Santa is watching over us all, friends we have lost and friends anew.

If my wish comes true after biting my first mince pie, then a new cure is just around the corner.

I hope this stays in the prostate forum, as it’s meant to our community who have helped others with our problems.
This takes nothing from any others suffering at this time of year, my thoughts go out to everyone at this time of year.

Stay safe

  • Hi Joe

I wish you all the best for Christmas and the New Year. I must also thank you for all the help you have given on the forum during 2023 - long may it continue in 2024. Your posts are most informative and helpful.

I am guilty of moving your original thread to the Christmas / New Year thread - sorry I will leave this thread open (I do work around other Cancer Communities and some have so many Christmas threads going - they become untidy - It's only my personal view and am trying so much not to be the Macmillan Community Police - I do let quite a bit go on in this Community that break the Community Guidelines - myself included but we have a cracking Community and it's OUR Community!!)

So I hope 2024 brings all you wish for, you, your family and everyone affected by cancer. - Merry Christmas - Brian.

  • Hi Brian

I declined community champion? Having said that, I think I was still given it, I’m not so good nowadays, probably going to have radiotherapy after Christmas, I see the main guy on the 28th, my spine has shadows in it, was told if the pain increases in certain areas, there may also be chemotherapy as my PSA has risen to around 28.

Had them both before, being the king of side effects, I expect it to knock me for six, I already have radiation prostitis from the last radiotherapy.
Slightly getting off subject, when Christmas comes round, I’m the biggest oldest kid on the planet. I want to share my happiness with all.

We’ve been through lots, love giving info to people who are just starting their journey, especially those similar to me, this is why I like to wish one and all the best at this time.

    Stay safe

  • Hello Joe, your incredible fight against T4 PCa for six and a half years gives us all hope thank you, here's wishing you many more, and I hope you, your wife and  family have a wonderful Christmas, take care, Eddie

  • Hi Joe

So sorry to hear that things are not too good - let's hope which ever treatments you have resolve the pain and reduce the PSA - My sincere best wishes with the treatment after Christmas.

I love Christmas - it's a magical time although 2020 (Covid Positive) 2021 (Hospital and Prostate Cancer Diagnosis) 2022 (Ill with over exercising) 2023 (lost one of our dogs) things appear to go wrong for us!!

As you say it's a time to share happiness and I can agree with you there.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Hi Brian

It really is a kick in the teeth finding out that you have this, then covid anther stab in the back.

When I was told, PSA 893 Gleason 9/10 stage four, my wife who’s my carer too, was in hysterics, me being the mildest person you could meet, help anyone, took a long time to calm her down, like all wives and partners, their stress and the way they handle things are admiral, their heroes ever one of them.
Sorry off topic there but merry Christmas to them all.

    Stay safe

  • Hi Joe.

Your journey is an inspiration to all with T4, Gleason 9, us included. Your comment about wives and partners brought a tear to my eye so my husband and I send you heartfelt thanks and wish you and yours a very merry Christmas and New Year and hope that your treatment next year goes better than expected.
