Just a quick introduction. Recently diagnosed with prostate cancer T2 (70% Stage 3 30% Stage 4) thankfully my bone scan is clear though. Been recommended to have a full removal as I am still relatively young (56) and going for pre op on Friday however there is a 3-4 month waiting list. I guess my main question if anyone can help is their experience of claiming against critical illness cover? Am sure more questions will come as time progresses.

  • Good Evening   A warm welcome to the Prostate Cancer forum - I know you didn't want to join but it's the best place to be for help and advice.

You will find plenty of forum members who have elected for surgery and I am sure they will answer any questions you have. I am surprised at a pre-op date on Friday with a wait of 3-4 months. Surgery is normally at the most a month after the pre-op (I have been wrong before!!).

Your question on Critical Illness cover would be a good one to ask a MacMillan expert and the link to this is:

I wish you well with your cancer journey - keep us advised as to your progress.

    Best wishes - Brian.
