Hi all,

in January 2022 had a very high psa 55.  To cut along story short, after scans the Cancer was confined to the Prostate.  Hormone Treatment, 20 sessions of Radiotherapy at Leeds, I've now been referred to psa clinic in York and psa is now 0.04.  Coming off Hormone Treatment in the new year.  Men best get checked.  Feel free to get in touch.  Best wishes, Nick.

  • Hello   - Welcome to the Prostate cancer forum.

I must say that's a great story 2 years RT and HT - a low PSA and you are done - that's great news and I wish you well with your recovery from the effects of the HT.

I do enjoy reading of cases where you have had - diagnosis - treatment - (with a view to being curative) and then end of treatment. I assume you will be having your PSA checked for the next 5 years - but happy days. I hope to be just where you are this time next year after 3 years HT Grimacing!!

Thanks for posting and best wishes - Brian.

  • Hi NickF.

What a great result for you, I wish you all the best.

I went through 20 sessions of RT in February and March with an initial PSA of 14 but Gleason 9. I have another 4 decapeptyl injections to go (3 monthly) finish then next November so I'm a year behind you.

My last PSA was 0.05 and I am scheduled for 6 monthly PSA tests for another 7 years but that's a small price to pay.

As you say in your post - men best get checked.

    Regards

    Peter

  • Hi Peter,
