Hi All
Im new so hopefully in good company .....
So my journey thus far:
Dad died of PC 4 yrs ago. I got tested annually because of that knowledge. In Jan 23 they found a PSA of approx 5. MRI & biopsy followed quickly. Stage 2 PC found.
Op done a week ago. Took me a few days to get out as felt groggy, leg was knocked out & constipated....
Yesterday got catheter removed. OMG - lets just say thank god for pampers. Literally a VERY VERY wet day. Plus my abdominal muscles / hernia hurt like hell.
Today feels better but looks like its gonna be a LONG road......to anything approaching normality post op.
Hello Blackhawk,
Stay positive. You are VERY early in the process of recovering your continence. For me, the first few days after catheter removal were the worst. But by one week, things were much better. Improvement was gradual, but by 2 months I was 95% continent. The rate of improvement is different for everyone, but patience is the overriding message.
Right now, you are at a scary and frustrating stage. But it is likely things will improve very soon. I wish you the best.
Your reply encapsulates exactly how i feel. Literally its was like a tap that can't be shut on day 1 of the catheter removal. But already on day 2 there is atvleast some degree of warning & prediction. And proceeding with my pelvic floors......
Mny thx for sharing . Feel a tad better....
