Hi. i have been here a couple of times but afraid of asking, but now i think  i need some reassurance from you guys.  i was diagnosed in 2018 with prostate cancer, i had radiotherapy for this and now its under control at a reading of 0.01 down from 78.4.  i have had all my injections for this over 2 years and my PSA has stayed at 0.01 for another 2 years, so its under control.  but, i have a problem with getting an erection now and  get semi hard but not able to penetrate.  i have been told about penile injections to remedy this but it comes with a warning that i could end up in A+E as it could give me permanent erection. also. i could take Viagra, i have been told that my blood vessel in the penis has closed and needs to be opened to give more blood flow. i am unsure of which to take advantage of. can anyone in this group tell me if they have used the injections before and does it really work..  also does the viagra work. TIA

  • Hi buddy I recently had a prostate removed and suffering with ED I have tried viagra 100mg dose done nothing for me was then prescribed tadalafil 20mg again not any good I do have a vacuum pump and this works well but by the time I am ready the mrs has dropped off too sleep next step for me before injection is muse this is a tiny pill you insert in too your urethra hopefully this will work like you I don’t fancy the injection everybody is different mate so the viagra may work well for you well worth giving it a try

  • thank you. i will speak with my GP about the tiny pill.

  • Hi Manchi. I had prostate out last September. I am still suffering from ED but it is getting slightly better. I have been taking 5 mg Tadalafil every day. I have no idea whether the improvement is from the pills or general recovery. I have been issued with a vacuum pump on prescription (the price would have been over £200) which I find very good. It is a bit alien and perhaps embarrassing  though. I don't fancy the injections although perhaps they are good.

  • Hello from France (but not from a guy...)Grinning

My husband had cystoprostatectomy in August 2022 (bladder cancer despite he never smoked and has a very healthy life...) with construction of a neobladder. and nerve sparring surgery. He took 5 mg cialis daily since catheter was removed. We kept very frequent and very pleasant sexual relations even with only minor signs of life in the penis (even none till January 2023). Then we observed slow improvement and practiced the flaccid insertion with help of a cock ring. Then in May he had to stop Cialis (terrible acid reflux). In June the urologist prescribed viagra (100 mg twice a week). Fist viagra produced only a semi erection. BUT since two weeks viagra (100 mg) works perfectly with a quality or erection of 10/10. My husband takes it with empty stomach at six in the morning or at 10 in the evening (after a light dinner at seven) and one hour later everything works perfectly. No side effect. We don't know if viagra will keep its effect over the coming months but it was really worth trying again.

In your case if you get semi hard it is a good sign (your blood vessels are not closed but probably deeply asleep !) You should have an appointment with an ED nurse or a sexologist. Don't search too much on internet, every body is different. Surely it is worth trying injection, the dose will be: adapted to your situation, don't worry. For viagra you can not tell that it will not work as long as you did not try.

    Don't give up !

    Catherine
