I am recently diagnosed  stage 4.  The first thing I did was to start reading,  and Jane Plants book Prostate Cancer seems to me to make a lot of sense.  She recommends going to what is in effect a hunter-gatherer diet and avoiding all of the chemicals that the food industry is using.  Has anyone tried doing this?

  • I haven’t tried the Jane Plant diet but did start to avoid over processed foods and eat more unadulterated foods. I also added in pomegranate juice, green tea and pomi-t capsules. Green tea has highly beneficial chemicals in it that are removed when making black tea.

  • Hi Ido4,  Jane Plant swears by green tea,  and also recommends cutting out all forms of Dairy,  milk cheese yoghurt etc from all sources,  cows, sheep,  goats. Her book airs the arguments against dairy in some depth. Did you see the Panaorama program on Ultra processed foods?  It made the same case,  it's worth a look on iplayer if you missed it.

  • Hi Petruchio,

I did see the Panorama program, scary stuff. I meant to mention I use non dairy milks too but still eat hard cheeses. I read an anti cancer diet book a few years ago, that’s where I learned about green tea, pomegranate and lycopene from cooked tomatoes, all highly beneficial.

  • I didn't see the program but do agree u should cut down on dairy although difficult to cut it out altogether.

Def use an alternative milk and also try and cut back or cut out ready meals.

Just try and eat sensibly/more healthy
