Hax biopsy on 27th April. Got my results on 15th May. T2 Glason 7 (3+4). Advised action required so its zapp it or remove it.

Would love to hear from people who have had one or other to get there experiences.

Thinking remove it at min to get it out my body.

  • Hi Radiation

My husband had the same decision to make and decided on the surgery - which he had 15Th April this year. (If you click on my icon, you can see his story to save repeating it all). He is now coming up to 5 weeks post surgery and so far has been recovering well. We will get the results about what they found on 13th June when we have a telephone appointment with his consultant.

We made the decision to have surgery due to the fact that radiation is still an option afterwards if needed, whereas if you have radiation first, surgery is no longer an option apparently. Like you, we both also felt that we just wanted the whole thing out of his body as soon as possible.

Happy to answer any questions if that helps.

  • Hello Radiation.

I had radiotherapy and hormone therapy and I am doing well.

I can understand your biopsy procedure, I went through the roof during mine and they had to abort. I had to have a general anaesthetic for that procedure after.

Hoping all goes well for you

  • Afternoon I opted for surgery too as I wanted rid of cancer I am 3weeks post op and doing well

  • Thank you. I feel same re getting rid.

  • Hi Radiation

Didn't have a choice in my case, HT and RT for me but having said that 18 months down the line I am doing great without any surgery.

If I had the choice I would have gone down the HT/RT route I think - I do hear of people with post surgery problems - but as you have read on here some people do well with surgery.

I can understand the "I want it out of my body" thoughts and I wish you well which ever route you take.

    Kind Regards - Brian.
