Waiting time

Hi, I had a prostatectomy in august and my psa has gone up - I’m booked in for scans and have been told they will all be done by May. Is that a normal time to wait or is there a risk of cancer spreading before then or a way to speed it up? Thanks

  • Hi Anon

You don't mention your PSA before and after/now.

Unless the PSA is moving quickly I think that May is fine.

Bear in mind that at very low PSA levels nothing may show on scans.

  • Thanks Steve. It was 0.06 in December and 0.1 now

  • yes, so still low, prob nothing to see on scan,  hopefully u will have another PSA in a few weeks just to check, could be a blip,
