So after a wknd of virtually any passing water im in A&E as obviously concerned .  Told me bladder is completely empty & im a little confused .  Mind playing lots nd said a large tumour can press on bladder !!!! . My intial scan showed a 5mm suspicious area two weeks ago ( pirade 3 ) that i haven't biopsed yet .  My PSA 3.3 also .  Any thoughts anyone would help put mind at ease : thanks

  • Did you drink much fluids over the weekend?
Did you have diarrhea, which loses lots of fluids, or do something energetic which caused increased respiration or sweating?

Did they check blood pressure and kidney function?

  • Normal amount of coffee ( two cups sat sun ) bit of exercise sat ( 30 mins cardio ) done ultrasound and said completely empty bladder . Ive been once while waiting , but obviously concerned its to do with 5mm tumour scan flagged up . Thanks

  • Blood pressure all good & awaiting blood test results for kidneys etc .  Bored senseless waiting & googling allsorts

  • People should be drinking at least 1.5L per day for hydration, although some may come from other sources such as fruit. Just 2 cups of coffee per day sounds far too little, not to mention that caffeine is a diuretic so caffeinated coffee wouldn't count for hydration purposes (although it does for fluid intake/output measurement). When you peed just now, what colour was it, bright orange (dehydrated) or light straw colour (normal hydration)?

If they had difficulty drawing a blood sample, that could also suggest dehydration.

  • Definitely dehydrated by the colour  Pensive .  Wasted 5 hours of my life waiting there really . Convinced myself i had a tumour pressing on my bladder too ( bored googling ) plus side i arranged the biopsy in urology.  Thanks all for helping .

  • Hi Blue 1970

    Just found your feed.

I have had a spate of urinary infections both before and after RT but they have become worse during RT. I've just had session 16 of 20.

I was wondering if this is water retention because of the RT or whether it's another infection.

It would be interesting to know of your outcome.

Hope all goes well with your journey

    Pete

  • Hi mate . This is something complete different to my small lesion . Dr told me its not related to that , which put mind at rest .
