Hello everyone
Im skyblue kev.
Ive been diagnosed with prostate cancer. I finished radiotherapy on 1901. I get results on 2004, Have been suffering side effects I w\as told it was very tiring and it is. I returned to work to soon and the strain was immense. I was told to expect that. But ive had successive coughs the first was chesty and now a second tickly bringing up some phlegm
The first was cleared by an anti biotic and have it again for the second, Both have been quite severe. My GP thinks the treatment has lessened my immunity to infection. The nurse in Oncology tells me Radiotherapy doesnt do that,
But how else to explain these coughs. Has anyone else suffered in this way?. Am i to reconcile myself to habitual coughs going forward
Hi Kev
U don't say what your stats are but I assume that u had RT together with HT.
I agree that RT shouldn't cause any long term side effects but HT certainly can especially if u are still on them.
Also HT can have an effect on the immume system so possibly could be the cause of cough etc.
Hopefully things improve soon .
Best wishes
Steve
