This has been offered as a first line treatment for multiple prostate bone metastases after a short period on HT - diagnosed stage 4 December 2022. PSA down to 0.7 from 12.   I'm concerned that chemotheraphy was not mentioned as there are no other underlying health conditions.   I'm hoping to get permission to speak with his team directly as I don't want to continually ask questions.  Anyone in this position who can offer advice. Thank you in advance

  • Hi Jes
They introduced Enzalutamide as a first line treatment during Covid as it was deemed safer than chemo at the time.  I have been on it for nearly 2 years now - fatigue and hot sweats are the worse of it.  I have gone down to 4 days a week working to improve quality of life. I think if you say you prefer not to go down this route they will respect your wishes and will offer chemo instead.  Have they offered RadioTherapy as well - I had 20 fractions about 6 months after starting HT.
    Stay strong, Steve

  • Hi Steve and thank you for the reply. It's my brother who was diagnosed... I'm seeking as much information as I can not just for him but for me to try and be as informed as possible with treatment options. I'm grateful this site is here. I've only recently joined but now feel less lonely. Thank you and good luck with your treatment

  • Hi Jes, can I direct you to Prostate Cancer uk?  They have a whole range of information booklets for all stages of the illness and were a brilliant source of information for us
