Hope treatment goes well.  I also recently had a cancer dx and after doctor told me I had cancer.  I’m didn’t hear another word that he said to me I kept it to myself and finally let my wife and and kids know. What helped me was I reached out to others that has my form of cancer and spoke to them and what to expect from treatment.  It is comforting to speak to others who have been on my spot.  So please find other men that has the same cancer ex of yours and speak to them.  It relieves a lot of anxiety and you will come to know what to expect in terms of your treatment

And welcome. Do you have any other stats you can  share with us - PSA, staging etc? 

The initial shock hit me like a train, as I didn't see it coming. The GP didn't share with me her suspicions, so I wasn't prepared for the news. 

Once you have had your meeting with the consultant the way forward should be clearer.

I know exactly how you feel. When I was told it came completely out of the blue. As you I didn't hear another word. Fortunately, by a fluke, my partner ( ex nurse) was there, so picked up on everything I missed.

It's a terrible shock to us all.
