Hello. My husband is being treated for Prostate Cancer Stage 4. He is on the hormone treatment regime. He is suffering from restless leg syndrome which is recognised  symptom of the drug he is taking. What is the hest relief for this. Thank you people.

  • Hi FranMary, I've suffered from restless legs syndrome for many years, well before my PC diagnosis Aug 2022.

RLS can be very challenging when it happens, which can be at any time but very often at night when sitting watching TV or worst of all in bed when you want to relax and can't get to sleep!

Over these years, I've tried many things to try and deal with it including different suppliements and diet but unfortunately nothing has really been effective for me.

I can recall instances when I was driving my car and my legs started and I just had to pull over, get out of the car and walk around for a few minutes! I could then carry on driving.

I'm so sorry that I can't give you any positive advice, when it does "kick off" the only thing that sometimes helps is to exercise, walk around, distract yourself in some way.

There is a theory that it is a "mental thing", something in your thought processes that can influence it and I tend to agree with this.

Of course you have lots going on in your brain about your "PC journey" so it's no surprise that it's working overtime. It's very difficult in the beginning but hopefully when you finally get your head around PC, your anxiety will subdue somewhat.

I wish you all the best in your journey and you will find lots of help and advice here and in time you will come to understand and accept where you are and just get on with it (cancer) and get on with life again.

    Graham
