Looking forward to meeting new people and sharing our journey's together.
I had a RP in 2014 and have recently started Hormone Treatment and currently
on a 23 day course of Radiotherapy.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to cope with hot flushes and night sweats
I'd be most grateful! I have been trying Sage tablets for the last 3 weeks, unfortunately
to no avail,.... yet!
Keep positive!
Dylan.
Hi Dylan
Welcome to our club!
I was on HT for 2 years and whilst the hot flushes were a bit of a pain I either took jumpers etc off and then put them back on again. Same with bedding. In the summer I would get a damp towel.
Worked for me ( still getting them) but I appreciate its much worse for others
Regards
Stuart
Thanks for your reply Stuart, good to meet you,... if you are still on HT there is a trial on offer called the STAMINA Program. I was fortunate enough to be selected (you have a 50/50 chance) to be given a year's membership to my local gym, you are also given a personal trainer!
The sweats are a pain, but as cancer feeds off Testosterone it's a no brainer really.
I may look into Acupuncture???? No urge to wear a dress,........... Yet!
Take care.
Dylan
Hi Dylan
I'm not on HT anymore and funnily enough I have been on a fitness programme too although not STAMINA. I think it was part funded by Macmillan and was conducted via Zoom - blame Covid! I thought it was pretty good.
Regards
Stuart
